Wind Graph for 9-12-10.

Here is the wind graph at Plattsburg for Sunday 9-12-10. (bottom graph)
I had a great time. 4.2 with 85 ltr. board. Great choice with the move from White's beach.
The meter must be on solar power. Also White's Beach Graph (top graph).
Great to see the UV Boys make the trip, it makes for a lot of fun. Signe on a new sail, cool.

  1. Hey Brian,

I was waiting for your Fall posts. :-)
Sunday on Mascoma was interesting. The forecast didn't promise anything exciting. When I came there to the SVSC site SE-SSE wind appeared to be stronger. Went out with 7.5 and in about half an hour got really overpowered. Was to lazy to rerig with the smaller one and just depowered the sail. Two SVSC folks raced the lasers for about an hour and the rest of time I was on my own. No stinky motorboats! I like Fall :-)
I was quite surprised how consistent and smooth was the wind that day. Another surprise was to see the wind graph for Lebanon at iWindsurf.com . The wind was obviously stronger then on the plot. I'm guessing the data come from the Lebanon airport and it my be situated behind a hill for this direction.

    Andrei.

  2. Hi Andrei:
SE wind on Mascoma can be very good (consistent).
I'm glad you got to sail. Were did you launch?
Boat landing.... Hope to make it out to the lake on a big NW wind day soon.

  3. Nope, I do not use the boat ramp.
I'm a member of both sailing clubs: Dartmouth (DSF) and SVSC. So, when it's the public season at DSF I launch from there and Irina uses their lasers. Off Dartmouth season, that is in spring and fall I and Irina go from SVSC spot, which is close to the bridge. It is perfect spot for SE winds but has pros and cons for N - NW. It takes a bit longer to get back on a board (not and issue for Irina on a laser) but has plenty of space for rigging and hanging around.
Currently, the state land there undergoes a road construction since the bridge is closed for repair, but still there are spots for parking along the street and rigging closer to the shore. I park on the property of one of the SVSC members.
